Last November, after the first grading
period, over 40% of the students at DFC were invited to
join the National Beta Club. Beta Club members must not
only demonstrate achievement by earning and maintaining
a 3.5 grade point average, but must also demonstrate the
Beta ideals of service and leadership. In January, 274 students
were inducted into the Beta Club, the largest group ever.

the events will be a bake sale during all three lunches.
Students still needing service points have been notified
as to how they can earn their points by bringing items for
the bake sale. Students can sign up with Mrs. Crowder in
room A116 no later than May 9th; food items must be delivered
to her room before school on the morning of the 11th
STATE BETA CLUB CONVENTION
(February 16th-17th)
Twenty-one students traveled to North Charleston along with
sponsors Mrs. Crowder and Mrs. Wells and chaperone Mrs.
Moore to attend this event. Almost all students participated
in at least one competition. The talented trio of Shahin
Kapasi, Minhaz Dalal and Anam Virani danced their way to
second place in special talent. Alessandra Gomez won first
place in pencil drawing and has been invited to compete
at the National Convention this June in Nashville.
