INTRODUCTION TASK PROCESS EVALUATION

 

 

INTRODUCTION: This is a web Quest to help you learn more about various careers via web research.  In this Web Quest for high school students, a specified list of Careers is explored.  The scenario:

Your school will be hosting a Career Fair. You have been asked to work on the committee that contacts business people in the community to ask them to participate. These people are called vendors. You are asking each vendor to set up a display table in the gym, pass out information and talk to the students as they visit their display.

As a member of this committee, you are to poll your classmates to find out the names of ten careers they are interested in learning more about. Next, you are to answer the following six questions for each career.

Your findings are to be presented to the other committee members. You are to show all of your data in a PowerPoint presentation.

TASK: You are to complete the following:

  1. Poll your classmates to identify ten careers that they are interested in.
  2. Create a table that displays the answers the six questions presented in the introduction.
  3. Visit career web sites to gather your information.
  4. Create a PowerPoint presentation (see Rubric for presentation guidelines)
  5. Present PowerPoint to classmates

PROCESS:

Student will visit the URL's provided on the Careers web site page and search them for the answers to the following list of "Career " questions . Using the data that you gather, you will create a PowerPoint presentation that gives details on the ten careers you researched. You will then present your PowerPoint slide show to your classmates.

 

Read each question thoroughly. Use Career Web Sites to locate the answers.
Write answers in a table (10X6) on a separate sheet.

EVALUATION:

You must visit at least five of the Career Web Sites or Career sites for your information. List the address of each site you visit along with all of your answers to the questions above.

Web Quest will be graded on how thoroughly the information is researched and data presentation.

PowerPoint presentation will be graded with a PowerPoint rubric.
